The LIFX Colour 800lm is the standard A19 screw-fit bulb in the LIFX range. At 800 lumens it replaces a 60 W incandescent bulb, which makes it the right choice for table lamps, bedside lights and most ceiling fittings where you do not want a lot of output.
What works in Apple Home
- Turn the light on and off, and set brightness, colour and white temperature.
- Group it into rooms and zones alongside the rest of your lighting.
- Use it in scenes and automations, and control it with Siri.
Connectivity
LIFX bulbs join your Wi-Fi network directly. There is no bridge to buy, no hub to power and no spare Ethernet port to find, which is the main practical difference between LIFX and bridge-based systems such as Philips Hue. For control from outside the house and for automations, Apple Home still needs a hub indoors: a HomePod or an Apple TV.
Before you buy
Choose 800 lumens where the light sits close to you, and the brighter LIFX Colour 1100lm where it has to fill a room. A bright bulb can always be dimmed, but the higher-output bulb costs more and draws more power, so there is no point over-specifying a bedside lamp.
Check the cap fitting for your market before ordering. LIFX sells the same bulb with an E26 screw cap in North America and an E27 or a bayonet cap elsewhere.
