Apple HomeView is a home hub with a 7-inch display. It controls your accessories, scenes and automations, and puts the Home app on a screen that stays in one room. Apple sells two models in the UK, Apple HomeView and Apple HomeView (Wall Mounted), at £299 each. Apple’s UK release date is 13 November 2026.

What it does in Apple Home

Apple calls HomeView “a central hub for your smart home accessories”.

  • Thread. The specifications list “Thread networking technology”, for HomeKit- or Matter-enabled Thread accessories.
  • Matter. Apple says HomeView works with Apple Home Collection “as well as other Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories”.
  • The screen. The Home Modular face shows your accessories at a glance. The Home Camera face streams up to nine camera feeds at the same time.
  • Sensors. Ambient light, temperature and humidity, and an accelerometer.
  • Alarm sounds. It listens for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and alerts you on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.
  • Cameras. With a supported iCloud+ plan and compatible cameras, it recognises people, familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles. See HomeKit Secure Video explained.
  • Guests. People HomeView does not recognise can still control accessories, check the weather, set timers and play music.

Siri AI

Siri AI is available on HomeView in UK English from launch. Apple calls it a beta, in HomeView software version 27.2. Apple says you can use it to view camera feeds, adjust the thermostat and lights, lock doors or close the blinds by voice.

What you need

An iPhone with iOS 27.2 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 27.2 or later. Both models need wired power. Apple HomeView comes with a 1.5m USB-C cable and a 30W power adapter. The Wall Mounted model needs a compatible wall mount, a USB-C cable and a power adapter of at least 20W, each sold separately. The Schneider Home Power Mount comes in USB-C, mains-wired and PoE versions.

Who should buy it

Buy HomeView if you want a fixed control panel for the house, in a kitchen or a hallway, and you check your cameras often. If you only need a hub for automations and remote access, a HomePod mini 2 does that job for £149.

How it differs from the other Apple hubs

Apple TV 4K (4th generation) is also £299, also has Thread, and also has Siri AI in UK English at launch as a beta. It needs a television, and it has Gigabit Ethernet. HomeView has its own screen, a 12MP Center Stage camera and room sensors.

HomePod mini 2 costs half as much and has a temperature and humidity sensor, but no screen. Apple says Siri AI comes to it via a future software update.

Apple also lists “Multi-room audio with AirPlay” for HomeView. Playing audio over AirPlay and running a HomeKit home are different jobs: HomeView does both, but a speaker that only takes AirPlay is not a home hub.
