The only real difference

These are the same bulb in two brightnesses.

• 800 lumens is roughly a 60 W incandescent bulb.
• 1100 lumens is roughly a 75 W one.

Everything else is identical: the colour range, the tunable white, the app, and the fact that both join your Wi-Fi directly with no bridge to buy or power.

Where each one belongs

Use 800 lumens where the light sits close to you: a bedside lamp, a table lamp, a reading light. A brighter bulb in a bedside lamp is just a dimmer setting you never leave alone, and you paid more for it.

Use 1100 lumens where one bulb is the main light source for a room, or in a hallway, or in a fitting with a shade that absorbs a lot of the output.

A bright bulb can always be dimmed, so when you are genuinely unsure, the brighter one is the safer error. It costs a little more and draws a little more power, which is why it is not the default answer.

Before you order either

Check the cap fitting for your market. LIFX sells the same bulb with an E26 screw cap in North America and an E27 or a bayonet cap elsewhere, and the listings do not always make that obvious.

If a security camera watches the room, look at the Nightvision Edition of the 1100 lumen bulb instead. It is the same light with infrared added, which is invisible to you and extends what the camera can see in the dark.
