Does Drayton Wiser Work with Apple Home?

Yes — if you have a 2nd generation Wiser hub. Since the Wiser Home app 7.5.0 update in May 2026, the 2nd generation hub works as a Matter bridge. Add it to the Home app and your Wiser devices appear there as ordinary accessories, with no separate HomeKit setup.

The 1st generation hub does not get it. Drayton’s announcement says Matter is available on 2nd generation hubs only.

What appears in the Home app

Drayton lists each Wiser device and the Matter type it appears as:

Wiser deviceAppears in Apple Home as
Smart Room ThermostatThermostat
Radiator Thermostat (TRV)Thermostat zone
Smart PlugSwitch or outlet
Window & Door SensorContact sensor
Motion SensorOccupancy sensor
Water Leakage SensorLeak sensor
Power Micro ModuleSwitch
Dimmer ModuleLight with dimming
Shades Control ModuleWindow covering

So Wiser gives you room-by-room radiator control in Apple Home: each radiator valve is its own zone.

Drayton’s announcement does not mention hot water, boiler settings or heating schedules. Keep the Wiser Home app for those, and treat the Home app as the place for temperatures, scenes and automations.

What you need

  • A 2nd generation Wiser hub. If you are not sure which you have, Drayton’s support can tell you.
  • An Apple home hub — an Apple TV 4K or a HomePod — left switched on. Drayton lists this as a requirement for Apple Home. See which Apple home hub you need.
  • A home network that supports Matter over Wi-Fi.

Matter is multi-admin, so adding Wiser to Apple Home does not stop it working with Alexa or Google Home at the same time.

Buying it

Wiser is sold as kits matched to the boiler:

Check that the listing says 2nd Gen before you buy: only those work with Apple Home.

For the other HomeKit options for a UK boiler — tado°, Netatmo and Eve Thermo — see the thermostats page.
